Wallace & Tiernan are pleased to launch their new series of UV Disinfection Products aimed at water disinfection.

The new systems complement the existing range of Wallace & Tiernan disinfection products by offering another treatment method to now provide users with a complete range of options. With two model ranges, the UV Wave and the UV Astron, Wallace & Tiernan offers both low and medium pressure lamp technology. The medium pressure lamps attack the DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) and the cell membranes, proteins, lipides and enzymes of micro-organisms. The result of such action prevents a photo-reactivation of the bacteria cells and ensures a lasting improvement of the disinfection.

Maximum disinfection is further enhanced by the design of the UV Astron irradiation chambers which are substantially reduced in size to allow a particularly efficient work rate from the compact flow-through reactors.

Disinfection by UV light is therefore very effective; it is also inexpensive, fast, safe and ecologically correct in activating or destroying micro-organisms at a wave length of between 200nm and 300nm.

Applications are found in the disinfection of potable, waste, pool, process and high purity water, as well as in hot water circuits and air conditioning systems, horticulture, fish farms and leisure water use.

The Wallace & Tiernan UV Systems are available in two different application requirements: the simply designed UV Wave Series for the disinfection of Flow rates up to 64 m3/h and the UV Astron Series, simple and compact and capable of horizontal or vertical mounting for added flexibility for flow rates ranging from 10 to 400m3/h. Both the UV Wave Series and UV Astron Series offer manual quartz sleeve cleaning whilst the UV Astron range also has an automatic option available.

Optional extras include a continuous UV Transmission Meter, Energy Step Control, Microcomputer Control and Cleaning Devices.
